The Research on Apartments Continues…

So, I promised yesterday that I would start talking about apartments I’ve found online through my searching, so here we go!

Apartment number one:

Apartment number one features two styles of two-bedroom apartments, but I prefer this one because of the jack and jill style sinks the bathroom features.  The only drawback to this floor plan is that it has less closet space than the other model.  Honestly though, with two girls sharing an apartment, I almost think that more bathroom space is the way to go in this case.

The best thing about this apartment:  Easily the patio and the jack and jill style bathroom.

Could use work:  More storage space.

Pros:  On-site laundry, free parking, pool, high-speed internet, on-site management/maintenance (which I didn’t think of as an amenity originally, but is a good one to have), sundeck/patio/balcony, lounge, package receiving service (also didn’t think of this), air conditioning, dishwasher, pets allowed (with a fee), transportation within walking distance

Cons:  parking isn’t assigned (spots may not always be available), a little more north than I would like (ideally), no health facility, could use more storage, ideal unit (of the two bedroom styles) may not be available, ideal unit is likely the more expensive of the two styles

Total items from list of ideal apartment qualities:  10.5/14

Size:  900-910 sq. ft.

Approximate cost:  Rent ranging from $635-737/month, deposit not listed, $200 pet deposit (initial fee), $25/month for one pet (or $35/month for two pets).  In our current situation (sans Pomeranian), I would end up paying between $320 and $370 a month.  Not bad at all!

Apartment number two:

Apartment number two is pretty much the ideal apartment!  It has six styles of two bathroom apartments.  The best one includes a walk-in closet.  I know this one is more of a far off ideal apartment, but it’s nice to know the dream exists.

The best thing about this apartment:  Easily the patio (some of the styles seem to potentially have multiple patios), bathrooms, walk-in closets…  Pretty much everything.

Could use work:  Cost…  I know, you get what you pay for, but it’s really high.  And possibly location.

Pros:  Sundeck/patio/balcony, walk-in closets, two bathrooms, storage space, clubhouse, in unit washer/dryer, parking (assigned, $35 fee), fitness center, pool, business center, internet, tennis courts, on-site maintenance, free weights, package receiving, air conditioning, dish washer, pets allowed (with a fee, breed restrictions), fireplace

Cons:  Kind of far from transportation, ideal unit may not be available, cost of ideal (or any) unit

Total items from list of ideal apartment qualities:  13/14

Size:  1005-1200 sq. ft.

Approximate cost:  Rent ranging from $708-2412/month, $200 deposit, $250 pet deposit (initial fee), $15/month for each pet.  In our current situation (sans Pomeranian and car), I would end up paying between $360 and $1200 a month.

Apartment number three:

This one is definitely closer in terms of our traveling needs and is still really nice.

The best thing about this apartment:  Patio and closet space

Could use work:  Closet layout

Pros:  Clubhouse, on-site laundry, free fitness center, internet, free parking, tennis courts, on-site management, package receiving, air conditioning, dishwasher, pet allowed (for a fee, maximum two pets), pool

Cons:  parking isn’t assigned (spots may not always be available), a little more north than I would like (ideally), could use more storage, strict pet policies

Total items from list of ideal apartment qualities:  12/14

Size:  933 sq. ft.

Approximate cost:  Rent is $795/month, deposit ranging from $250-$800, $300 pet deposit for each pet (initial fee), $15/month for each pet.  In our current situation (sans Pomeranian), I would end up paying about $400 a month.  Totally reasonable!

Apartment number four:

This apartment is right down town and is really good for our traveling!  They feature town home style two bedrooms, but we don’t really need that option.

The best thing about this apartment:  Patio and location

Could use work:  Closet space and bathroom

Pros:  Clubhouse, on-site laundry, storage spaces free fitness center, internet, assigned parking (for a fee), on-site management/maintenance, free weights, patio/balcony/sundeck, package receiving, air conditioning, dishwasher, pet allowed (for a fee, maximum three pets), pool, trash pick-up

Cons:  could use more storage in the apartment, small bathroom

Total items from list of ideal apartment qualities:  11.5/14

Size:  832-968 sq. ft.

Approximate cost:  Rent ranging from $730-$995 each month, $99 deposit, $200 pet deposit for each pet (initial fee), $30/month for pets.  In our current situation (sans Pomeranian and car), I would end up paying between $365 and $500 each month.  This is a really good price for downtown.

Anyway, there’s some apartments I like from my searching.  More apartments tomorrow!
